About HCSA

The Hospital Consultants & Specialists Association is a Trade Union affiliated to the TUC representing and advising senior medical and surgical staff in the UK

Our goal is to represent the interests of our members and their patients. This objective can only be achieved if medical practitioners and those who manage health care are committed to the highest standards. This requires quality at all levels – the hospital environment, specialist and general medical education, constant updating and networking with other professionals, and access to medical knowledge and research.
The HCSA is:

a strong cohesive organisation devoted solely to the interests of all senior hospital doctors.
open only to Consultants, Associate Specialists, Specialist Registrars and Staff Grade Doctors.
an organisation that is independent and answerable only to its members.
a professional association and also a registered independent trade union. We represent our members without compromise.
an organisation that responds to members' views on all major issues.
