About HCSA
The Hospital Consultants & Specialists Association is a Trade Union affiliated to the TUC representing and advising senior hospital medical staff in the UK in both the NHS and Private Sectors.
Our goal is to represent the interests of our members and their patients. This objective can only be achieved if medical practitioners and those who manage health care are committed to the highest standards. This requires quality at all levels – the hospital environment, specialist and general medical education, constant updating and networking with other professionals.
The HCSA is:
- a strong cohesive organisation devoted solely to the interests of all senior hospital doctors.
- open only to Consultants, Associate Specialists, Specialist Registrars (with 2 years of CCT), Staff Grade and Trust Specialty Doctors.
- an organisation that is independent and answerable only to its members.
- a professional association and also a registered independent trade union.
- an organisation that responds to members' views on all major issues
