HCSA - the hospital doctors’ union has an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop and deploy their existing practical skills in digital engagement and communications as a maternity cover appointment.
The post of Digital Engagement and Communications Officer (DECO) is a new role within an ambitious and growing trade union which supports hospital doctors at every point in their career. Working as part of the Policy and Communications team, the successful candidate will need to be as comfortable working hands on independently to see tasks and projects to fruition as they are collaborating with colleagues on new ideas.
The most important responsibility will be that of delivering an ongoing wellbeing webinar programme. There will also be a requirement to develop associated resources in order to assist the medical profession to work through the many personal and workplace challenges created during the Covid pandemic.
The DECO will also be tasked with supporting the development of a wider range of educational and developmental learning online.
The successful candidate will need a thorough understanding and proven practical application of digital tools, communication and engagement skills which they will deploy to enhance HCSA’s profile online and project key campaigning and service objectives to hospital doctors across the UK and engage with other influential stakeholders.
The DECO will also be expected to utilise their excellent communications skills to support the internal development of our activist network and support our Council members to deliver organisational growth. This will require confident and articulate interaction with stakeholders to engage and motivate, both via social media and traditional mediums.
Finally, they will support the Communications team in a project to deliver a totally new online presence for HCSA.

This is a 6-month fixed term post, with the possibility of a 3-month extension. It attracts a pro rata 30 days holiday plus bank holidays.
